Background Information:
In January 2022 the city awarded the construction contract of the Surface Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) Improvement’s project to Archer Western in the amount of $12,945,554.10. The cost of this project is shared between the City of San Marcos, Alliance Regional Water Authority (ARWA) and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA). The City is responsible for $5,863,444.05 of this original award amount. The improvements at the SWTP are needed to take delivery of the new ARWA water supply to the City.
During the submittal review process, a few items were identified as outdated and it was decided to update them to the most current design standards. Change Order 2, in the amount of $266,893.94, will upgrade these items. The City is responsible for $52,667.82 of this amount.
