Background Information:
This request is for the purchase of a large forklift from Lonestar Forklift in the amount of $143,931 through the Sourcewell cooperative contract #053024-HCE. It is needed to safely move utility poles and large wire reels at the City’s Public Service Center storage yard and warehouse.
This new forklift will be stationed at the Public Services Complex. The previous forklift approved by City Council in April 2025 is stationed at the Utility storage yard (40 acres) which is located behind the Animal Shelter on River Road.
Pursuant to Local Government Code 271.102, the City is authorized to participate in the cooperative purchasing programs therefore, staff recommends award of this work to Lonestar Forklift, in the amount of $143,931.00 through the Sourcewell purchasing cooperative #053024-HCE.
