Wastewater Master Plan
Background Information:
The attached change in service for $2,412,652.00 to Agreement 221-145 with Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) will provide engineering design, bid and construction phase services for the City of San Marcos (City) related to the HWY 80 Utility Project.
This scope of work is based on the recommendations in the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) Highway 80 Utility Project provided as required in the initial scope of the agreement. The project scope includes a new lift station, force main and water main along Highway 80 just east of Highway 21 with the force main connecting to the wastewater treatment plant off River Road.
This project was identified as a priority in the 2015 wastewater master plan to address capacity issues anticipated in the near future due to the growth north and east of the Blanco River. Once this lift station is operational, there are several additional wastewater projects that will need to be completed upstream toward IH 35 and Yarrington to relieve the existing infrastructure that currently serves this area.
Preliminary construction costs are estimated approximately $18-$20 million. Construction is expected to start in 2024.
