Background Information:

September 7, 2021, Council authorized funding in the total amount of $271,915 from American Rescue Plan Funds to grant recipient “Austin Area Research Organization on behalf of Central Texas Addressing Cancer Together” for the purpose of supporting breast cancer initiatives to address health disparities among uninsured, low-income women at risk of breast cancer.

This request is that council terminate the agreement with “Austin Area Research Organization on behalf of Central Texas Addressing Cancer Together” and transfer the contract to “United Way” to serve as the coordinating entity for the contract including managing financials, staff and generally run the operations of Addressing Cancer Together model of care. City Council approval to contract with United Way is under separate agenda item this date.
