Background Information:
Council approval is requested for Change in Service #7 in the amount of $314,181.00 for the Blanco Riverine project to add project management, construction administration, and environmental monitoring and compliance services for the bid phase, construction phase, and final close-out services for the project. Funding for these activities is with CDBG-MIT funds and a cost reasonableness review on the scope has been completed in compliance with HUD regulations.
The Blanco Riverine Flood Mitigation Project consists of a berm/ floodwall structure located between River Road and the Blanco River to contain flood waters up to the 50-year flood event and a relief channel to convey and control floodwaters from the Blanco River to the San Marcos River; thereby preventing the Blanco River from overflowing into the Blanco Gardens neighborhood.
The project has achieved environmental clearance with a “Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI)” August 2021 and approval by HUD for release of CDBG-MIT grant funds for construction, bidding, and construction phase services.
