Background Information:
City Council provided direction through the annual Budget Policy meeting to continue an incremental rate increase approach for all utilities instead of larger increases every few years. Council then provided additional direction during the August 19, 2025, workshop to implement the recommended 1% rate increase for Resource Recovery. The rate adjustment will fund expenses for services that include increases for trash, recycling, green waste and other programs, public outreach and education, and administration of the resource recovery program.
For single family customers with a 65-gallon trash cart:
- The monthly increase is $0.31, from $30.95 to $31.26.
For single family customers with a 96-gallon cart:
- The monthly increase is $0.31, from $35.95 to $36.26.
For multifamily recycling:
- The monthly increase is $0.10, from $10.13 to $10.23.
For extra 96-gallon trash carts:
- The monthly increase is $0.11, from $10.56 to $10.67.
For extra 96-gallon recycling and green waste carts:
- The increase will be $0.08, from $7.56 to $7.64.
