Background Information:
On April 23, 2020, the City of San Marcos entered into a professional services agreement (220-200) with Dr. Tania Glenn and Associates, PA, for First Responder Clinical Care Advisor and Care. The Trauma Defense Team of Dr. Tania Glenn and Associates, PA, provides ongoing care and resolution for first responders who are experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress, burnout, compassion fatigue; pre-incident inoculation for individuals, groups, and organizations to prepare for possible incidents; crisis response and follow-up; and review of emergency response policies and procedures.
The initial contract amount was $49,500, which covered the period of time from April 23, 2020, through present date. However, due to the continued need for services by the City’s first responders, the cumulative contract amount will exceed $50,000. The Human Resources Department is requesting that the contract be approved for an estimated annual contract amount of $32,000 with the option to extend annually in one-year increments at the rate of $32,000 per contract year. Annual contract extensions will be completed administratively. The contract term herein is defined as April 23 through April 22 of the following consecutive year.
Dr. Tania Glen was selected based on her demonstrated competence and qualifications in the field of treating anxiety and trauma. Dr. Glenn has worked with law enforcement, fire, EMS, military and aviation professionals, and has helped many individuals with their recovery from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
