Background Information:
On December 12, 2024, the City received two (2) proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFP) #224-185 for SMTXU Wastewater Treatment Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Management. A City-staffed evaluation team thoroughly evaluated both proposals submitted and determined Jacobs to be the most qualified and best value to perform the required services of the contract.
This contract will provide full-service operations, maintenance, and management of the wastewater treatment facility safely and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Facility and equipment repairs, solid waste disposal, and provision of chemicals and electricity are include in the cost of this contract.
The City’s current contract for operations and maintenance of and other goods/services for the City’s wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) on River Road expires September 30, 2025. The new contract with Jacobs as a result of the RFP process for these services will commence October 1, 2025, for a five-year term with options to renew for three additional five-year periods.
