Background Information:

Pursuant to Local Government Code 271.102 which authorizes the City to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, staff recommends award to CXT Inc., Dallas TX, in an amount not to exceed of $109,168.00 through the Sourcewell contract #081721-CXT for Restroom and Shower Facility Solutions. Sourcewell issued a Request for Proposals solicitation, evaluated offers, and selected CXT, Inc. based on best value.

City Council approved $150,000 of American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funding for the installation of permanent public restroom facilities within Dunbar Park on July 5, 2022.

This contract provides for the acquisition of the precast concrete restroom building that will be installed in Dunbar Park.  The facility will include two separate single user, fully ADA accessible restrooms and attached outdoor water fountain.  The exterior of the facility will have simulated barnwood walls and be painted to match the Dunbar Recreation Center. An example of the facility can be seen within the attached proposal documents.

The Parks and Recreation Department has previously installed similar facilities at the trailheads of Lower & Upper Purgatory and Spring Lake Natural Areas.  While those facilities were vaulted, this facility will be fully connected to water/wastewater and electric utilities.
