Background Information:
The City proposes a new 12-inch waterline along Staples Road from the Hills of Hays Subdivision to Old Bastrop Highway with the Staples Waterline Project. During design and easement acquisitions for this project the River Bridge Ranch Development near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 110 and Staples Road was under planning and design of a single family residential neighborhood. The River Bridge Ranch Development will install a force main in a similar alignment as the City’s waterline project. Therefore, the opportunity to consolidate construction efforts within a shared easement was presented. The City requested to cost participate in an amount not to exceed $2,340,876.46 with Lennar Homes to compete the City’s waterline project at the same time as the development is constructing their force main. This will minimize the inconvenience and construction timeline for property owners along the construction area.
