Airport Master Plan
Background Information:
A series of updates is needed to the airport master plan that was adopted by Council on April 20, 2021 (Res. 2021-69R) due to strong demand for airport development and potential changes in the types of aircraft that could utilize the airport.
The city is seeking financial support from TxDOT Aviation to use federal funds to support the cost of the 2024 master plan update effort. The federal funds being requested by the city are funds made available to the San Marcos Regional Airport from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
TxDOT Aviation requires a resolution from the local sponsor requesting financial assistance, which will be way of reimbursement at the end of the project. Additionally, the City Manager must document through designation the City’s project manager.
The estimated cost of the master plan update will not exceed $175,000, unless subsequently authorized. The City will be responsible for 10% of the actual cost and will be reimbursed for the remaining 90% at the end of the project.
