Background Information:
Attorney Arturo Rodriguez is currently representing the City in various legal matters related to water, utilities, and related matters. Arturo Rodriguez and Bradford Bullock have left the firm with which they were previously affiliated and have joined the law firm of Messer Fort & McDonald. This makes it necessary for the City to enter into new agreements with Messer Fort & McDonald for the City’s legal matters being handled by Mr. Rodriguez at this firm. Because there are various contracts which will need to reflect this change the contracts are not attached. Interim City Attorney Barbara L. Quirk is asking City Council to authorize her to execute new contracts with the Messer Fort & McDonald firm for all matters currently being handled by Mr. Rodriguez on the same terms to those in the previous agreements with Mr. Rodriguez.
