Background Information
:

In 2015, state annexation law changed under House Bill 1949, requiring that a municipality proposing to annex territory adjacent to a County road must annex the entire width of the road. The City is now annexing six stretches of right-of-way to ensure consistency with the law. These locations are being annexed with the permission of Hays County.

The approximate 30.69 acres is located along the following roads:

1.                     Centerpoint Road from Hunter Road to Interstate Highway 35

2.                     McCarty Lane from Hunter Road to Union Pacific Railroad

3.                     Yarrington Road adjacent to the Whisper development

4.                     Harris Hill Road adjacent to the Whisper development

5.                     Posey Road adjacent to the Trace development

6.                     Old Bastrop highway adjacent to the Trace development

Zoning is not proposed with this annexation; Future Development “FD” is the default zoning district for any annexed property unless zoned otherwise. Water, wastewater, and electric providers are detailed in the service plan, attached.
