Background Information:
KACE is an on-premise comprehensive IT tool that allows the City to implement mobile-device management (MDM); inventory and asset management; server management and monitoring; software license management; patch management; systems management; system imaging; and IT services desk ticketing software, all in one.
This initiative was started in order to maintain CJIS Compliance (Criminal Justice Information Services) which requires an MDM solution for any device that can access Criminal Justice Information or systems. The funding to meet this requirement was approved for the FY2020 budget.
The cost is $43,495 annually, $217,475 over 5 years, on Texas DIR contract DIR TSO 3763.
The City of San Marcos is authorized by the Local Government Code, Chapter 271, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs. The (“DIR”) Cooperative Purchasing has awarded contract # DIR-TSO-3763 for Dell Branded Hardware, Software and Related Services & Cloud Services to Dell Marketing, L.P.
