Background Information:
Section 307.02 of the Texas Local Government Code requires that home rule cities which have established a juvenile curfew conduct periodic reviews of the ordinance to determine whether or not the ordinance should be continued. These reviews are required before every third anniversary of the most recent effective date of the ordinance. This section of the Local Government Code also requires that, as part of this review process, the city hold public hearings on the matter. Staff did not place this item before Council before the deadline expired. As a result the juvenile curfew expired and this ordinance continues to reestablish the curfew. The purpos...
